Carrots, Potatoes, and Blueberries...

...OH MY! This has easily been my most successful garden year and I am loving it! The past two days I've put up green beans...decided to blanch and freeze them with my handy vacuume sealer. I put a pat of butter and some dill in each package so I can easily cook them later.

I dug up one garlic bulb to see if they are ready for harvest, but it looks like they need a bit to fill out.

Still no eggs...I check the coop everyday, but haven't seen any so far.

It's so different to read a southern gardener's blog. Up here (N. Illinois) I just planted my green beans last week and you're already harvesting! Wow!

Hi Okie Girl- Sounds like you have been busy for sure. My beans are being eaten by some mystery critter so I need to figure that out or I won't put any up this year. Your garden looks so lush!

Hey, it's looking good around your garden area! Makes me hungry just looking at the pictures!

Guess I'll have to go raid the nephews garden soon!

Looks good! I live in california, with very mild weather, but planted my green beans somewhat late and you beat me to harvesting. Good job! I'm so jealous. Now is that wonderful time of year when we are just around the corner from harvest time! when the crops just start rolling in, hooray! P.S. I beat you to garlic harvest though, so I'll still be able to call myself a gardener:) It's curing on the patio as we speak.

I agree, this has been a successful garden year so far. I think it is because we had a really cold Winter for the first time in ages. Lots of plants need a proper dormant period in Winter to form buds for the new year.

My beans are still hiding under ground!

If you have older breeds of chickens than the white Leghorns-they take longer to mature and start laying--but are more hardy and stable once started! I remeber how long that wait for the first egg was--and then it came and I took complete credit for the little tiny thing! LOL
