Garden news!

Here's the newest gardener at OAH! I highly recommend enlisting the help of a bunny rabbit for your gardening efforts...they make fast work of composting your veggie scraps and offering up some wonderful garden fertilizer in return. This little gem has been named "Snowball," she is a Dwarf Newfoundland (sp?), so she should remain small and will hopefully show well in the County Fair for my girls.

Here are the potatoes, cut and curing the night before planting!

These beds contain spinach, onions, lettuce, and peas! They're still a little rough...this is a garden in progress, people! On the right, you'll see the potato plot...cock full of seed potatoes planted, in part, by this little person:

Take a look at the newly tilled space...this will soon be built into beds like the ones above.

Here's another pick of the bunny...nestled in a bed of lamb's wool. She is just adorable!

Looks like you all have been busy, and that bunny is the cutest thing!

We just got 3 raised beds built and filled. We're giving square foot gardening a try. I've got some potatoes that need to go in our tires to plant. And onions and peas in the beds. I've got my tomatoes, peppers, and a few other things started inside. I'm praying for a plentiful year for all.

We also have chick eggs in the incubator, and are currently petitioning the city for a variance for goats, but that's another story. Have a great day!

Blessings,
sara

That's a lot of work, and it sure looks good.

Are you able to get your seed potatoes locally, or do you order from a grower? We had an awful time with them last year, but I'd still like to grow our own.

I've never tried growing potatoes and with our rampant gopher problem, I'm afraid. Thinking of trying to grow them in a deep container. Not this season, though. I have too many other things planned for this year. But someday...

I am really interested in what I have read about using bunny pooh for the garden. Do you use it and what is your opinion?
